10 Reasons Why I Use Movable Type for Everything
Quoted from Brian Fling
My justification on using Movable Type for web projects
I have a few projects in the hopper where I extensively use Movable Type to do way more then just publish a weblog. This made me think that I should finally justify why I use Movable Type for just about everything I do.
The Background
If you don’t know, Movable Type is a weblogging framework created by the husband and wife founders of Six Apart. It didn’t start the web publishing revolution that has been going on for the past three years, but it definitely lowered the bar to entry. It’s been the #1 weblog software of choice for many years, though recently it has been losing ground to others, namely WordPress, which is free and open source, but it’s ease of use and flexibility has kept it on top.
Movable Type has enabled me to launch pretty complex sites incredibly quickly with a minimum of resources. It’s allowed me to distribute authorship to multiple authors, most of which with a low technical tolerance. And I haven’t found something it can’t do, which is more than I can say for other solutions.
With that said, on to the list…
