What To Do When You Don’t Know What To Blog About

There are times when you may find that you have nothing to blog about. This may happen fairly frequently and may go on for several days. You might maddeningly stare at your blog, see the post you did several days ago and still not be able to think of anything to say. What do you do, what do you do?? Not that I’ve ever had this problem (*cough*), but I’ve come up with some ideas to reinvigorate the blogging part of your brain.

The first idea is to step away from the computer. Yes, that’s right, turn it off and go away. In fact, leave the house entirely. Go to a coffee shop; go see a movie, heck, go to a dog show if there’s one in your area. The purpose is to get out and experience life. A lot of you blog about your day to day adventures so you might need to actually go have some adventures before you can blog about them. Besides, the fresh air will do you some good.

Not in the mood to go anywhere or missing some reliable transportation? No problem. Take a bike ride or go for a walk around your neighborhood. Chances are very good that the physical exercise will energize your mental faculties and you’ll return back to home base with a plethora of blogging ideas.

If you just can’t bring yourself to leave the house then put on your favorite movie/TV show/CD or read a few chapters of that book you’ve been meaning to get to. Therein lays all sorts of potential blogging ideas. What’s your favorite movie? Who’s your favorite band? What’s your favorite moment in your favorite book? Don’t answer that here, go blog it!

If none of the above work, then jump on the old Information Superhighway and do some surfing. Chances are you will find a story somewhere that will provoke some sort of response. There’s a post right there.

So now that I’ve given you a jumpstart on blogging inspirations, go forth a blog your brains out. If you have any great ideas to defeat blogger’s block, feel free to leave them here.
